SARAH WIGGLESWORTH, STRAWBALEHOUSE

2016_work and modification analysis

A thorough analysis through text and model of the S/E facade of Strawbalehouse in London by Sarah Wigglesworth. However, the text is not enclosed here. The analysis of the facade, consisting of hearing bags filled with concrete, was later on interpreted and modified so that it instead consisted of used rubbertubes (for bikes) filled with sand braided between thin rebar. The idea was to maintain the organic expression and the sound proofing function, as the facade is next to a noisy railway.
